Sie singen den Song zusammen, als Rachel zum ersten Mal die Stimme ihrer Mutter auf einem Tonband, das Jesse ihr gegeben hat, hört. Die Szene spielt sich in einer lebhaften Traumsequenz ab, da die beiden sich vorher noch nie gesehen haben.

- Im Musical Les Miserables wird der Song von Fantine gesungen, die ihre Tochter Cosette dem Hauptcharakter Jean Valjean überlässt. In Glee gibt Shelby Rachel einem schwulen Paar, welches sie großzieht. Ironischerweise spielte Lea Michele die junge Cosette in einer Les Mis-Produktion.
