Being Good Isn't Good Enough from Hallelujah, Baby! (Barbra Streisand version) is featured in Swan Song, the ninth episode of Season Four. It is sung by Rachel.
This is one of the two songs Rachel sings for the winter showcase. She is watched by Kurt and Brody when they take their seats as Rachel takes to the stage. Rachel introduces herself first and as she sings, several people in the audience, including Kurt, Brody, and Alexandra, watch with excitement. Alexandra looks very enviously at Rachel, while Carmen Tibideaux gives a small smile as she watches Rachel perform.
As Rachel finishes the song, she is given a standing ovation by the audience. Brody demands an encore, Carmen nodding with satisfaction, and Rachel looks as if she is going to cry from happiness.
Lyrics[]
Rachel:
Being good isn't good enough
Being good won't be good enough
When I fly, I must fly extra high
And I'll need special wings so far to go
From so far below
Should I try?
Am I strong enough?
If there's time, have I long enough?
Gotta fly and if I fall
That's the way it's gotta be
There's no other way for me
Being good just won't be good enough
I'll be the best or nothing at all
I'll try, am I strong enough?
If there's time, have I long enough?
Gotta fly and if I fall
That's the way it's gotta be
There's no other way for me
Being good just won't be good enough
I'll be the best or nothing at all
