Stronger by Britney Spears is featured in Britney/Brittany, the second episode of Season Two. It is sung by Artie with Finn and Puck as backup.
While under anesthesia at the dentist, Artie hallucinates a scene in which he encounters Britney Spears in a Cheerios uniform who calls him sweet and tells Tina she is a fool for breaking up with him. Tina then says she's sorry, and Artie replies, "...and I'm stronger," which leads to Artie singing Stronger with Finn, Puck, and the football team on the football field. Tina is seen standing in the bleachers in front of a "Loser" banner. This vision motivates Artie and gives him the confidence to ask to be put on the football team again, after being rejected the first time.
Artie with Finn and Puck:
Hush.. just stop
There's nothing you can do or say (Artie: baby)
I've had enough
I'm not your property as from today (Artie: baby)
You might think that I wont make it on my own
But now I'm
Stronger than yesterday
Now it's nothin' but my way
My loneliness ain't killing me no more
I...I'm stronger
Than I ever thought that I could be (Artie: baby)
I used to go with the flow
Artie:
Didn't really care 'bout me
Artie with Finn and Puck:
You might think that I can't take it
Artie:
But you're wrong
Artie with Finn and Puck:
'Cause now I'm
Stronger than yesterday
Now its nothin' but my way
My loneliness ain't killing me no more
I...I'm stronger
Artie:
Come on now
Oh yeah
Artie with Finn and Puck:
Here I go
On my own
I don't need nobody
Better off alone
Artie:
Here I go on my own now
I don't need nobody not anybody
Here I go
Alright
Here I go
Artie with Finn and Puck:
Stronger than yesterday
It's nothin' but my way
My loneliness ain't killing me no more
I...I'm stronger (Finn and Puck: than yesterday)
(Finn and Puck: Now) it's nothin' but my way
My loneliness ain't killing me no more (Artie: Now I'm)
Stronger than yesterday
Now it's nothin' but my way
My loneliness ain't killing me no more (Artie: no more)
I...I'm stronger
Trivia[]
Artie was the only guy of New Directions who sang a Britney Spears song and had a hallucination about her in the episode.
This is the only of Artie's dance sequences in which he isn't depicted standing up (Safety Dance, Scream, and the sequence in Glee, Actually all involve him standing).
