I have just survived what I thought was impossible. Nine days without Glee, more accuracy nine days without the internet. To keep me sane I wrote a diary of all the encounters I got throughout those days that reminded me of the show. Initially, I only had my iPod and my memory, but it seems I can never escape. Not like I want to. Holiday Destination: Adelaide and Kingscote, Kangaroo Island, South Australia. (I live in Victoria for anyone who knows Australian geography)
Day One- Thursday 12/01/2012- Just realised how cool the date is
Glee Reminders:
· ‘Furt’ playing on inflight entertainment
· Tumblr and Glee Wiki before leaving home
· Golden Globes add, cast was in it
· Facebook and texting over the show
· Quoting and songs stuck in my head
Level: At home normal.
I’m not really sure if today can be classified as day one, since we left home at 11 am and I was on Tumblr and the wiki before we left, but it was a lot less the usual. I thought not having to leave ‘till then meant I could spend heaps of time this morning doing things; I actually just slept in. I haven’t listened to my iPod yet, but something happened that I wasn’t expecting. The inflight entertainment was showing Glee. When I stumbled across it I knew instantly that it was Furt, mostly because Sue’s mother was on screen. I hadn’t missed much, which I was thankful for, but my Mum was annoyed. She’s trying to get me ‘off’ Glee. I’m going pretty well, though I hardly call it progress, being less than 24 hours, but tomorrow will be harder. Friday is when they release the new songs and Lea’s song is supposed to be the best Rachel has ever sounded; hard to believe. It’s really annoying that we are so behind America. They get this episode, their first since December this week and someone said we might not get I Kissed A Girl ‘till April. I am not cool with that. Wish me luck, Joanna.
Day Two- Friday 13/01/2012- No bad luck yet

Today’s main glee-minder, get it glee reminder, came from seeing Lea’s picture in the paper about the People’s Choice Awards, not sure why. Everything else was in my head.
Remember in Journey (to Regionals), no-one agrees on the name of this episode, how Sue told Will she had a dream about them going to the zoo. Well that quote was going through my mind the entire time we were at one, the whole day.
The Devil Wears Prada was on TV tonight, Vogue was playing in the background and when Anne Hathaway’s character got bangs I thought of Lea/ Rachel.
I think my main problem will be filling in time once we reach Kangaroo Island. We’re there for five days and the place isn’t that big. Those days are supposed to be our ‘relaxing’ part of the holiday. I was relaxing perfectly well at home with kangaroos in the backyard. May the boredom begin, Joanna.
