Sweeney Todd - Jesse St. James - This is on the nose. Jesse has the tortured man energy & vocal range accurate to the role. He can embody the anger & sadness needed for a traditional casting of the character.
Mrs. Lovett - Mercedes Jones - She has the motherly nature & raw talent needed to sing the female lead. She is maybe a bit too kindly to play a kindly & dark character like Lovett, but I do think she can pull it off.
Judge Turpin - Noah Puckerman - He’s tortured & brooding, also smarmy & enjoys having power too much. He fits the role like a glove. He can bring the gravitas & intensity needed to play a corrupted authoritarian.
Beadle Bamford - Artie Abrams - I know he’s directing, but he’s the only one with the necessary comedic chops for the role. He has both the offbeat personality & eccentrics needed to play what is essentially the comic relief evil henchman & also has the necessary tenor range to perform LITS as Jesse is shaving him.
Johanna - Rachel Berry - She’s the only one with the soprano range to pull off Johanna & really would nail the broken but still a dreamer energy. She really seems like she’d be able to bring the necessary theatrics.
Anthony Hope - Blaine Anderson - Anthony & Blaine are both hopeless romantics. This almost fits too well.
Beggar Woman/Lucy Barker - Santana Lopez - She leans into the broken, chaotic energy the role requires. Tina would be even more spot on as a gothic girl, but she doesn’t have the intense anger the role requires. I’d say she’d be Santana’s understudy & do just as good a job, but Santana just fits the role a tiny bit better.
Adolfo Pirelli - Kurt Hummel - They both have the effeminate machismo, if that makes sense, for him to be able to tackle the role. Kurt is a lot softer than Pirelli, but he can give attitude & snobbery when he tries to.
Tobias Ragg - Rory Flanagan. If they had Myron Muskowitz at the time, I’d have picked him, but they didn’t. Rory has the youthful energy to pull off the role & you can easily buy him as Jesse & Mercedes son figure. He can hit the high notes as we saw in “Take Care of Yourself”, & I think he could pull off playing a little kid.
Jonas Fogg - Mike Chang - It’s a role that doesn’t require any singing, so that takes all the pressure to sing like a powerhouse off him. Mike can play the role of a tough authoritarian the best, as we noticed when he sang Cool. He can play a dark character who owns the insane asylum because he’s intelligent & adaptable.
Bird Seller - Finn Hudson - It’s a quick, non singing role & I think he can pull it off well, because he’s dumb but lovable. He may be a bit too much of a bully to pull off a humble role, but we saw him act solid before.

Prostitutes/Customers/Narrators - Tina Cohen-Chang, Quinn Fabray, Brittany S. Pierce, Sugar Motta.
