Which has now been closed, so much for calling it a discussion when it has been closed while people are defending the issue. anyways good job.... that only proves the point of this blog.....
Although I must say this is late and the admins pretty much lacks proper judgement on this matter... (peace out, hear me out first, it's gonna be long... you might wanna make tea coffee or take notes... i dunno... ;) ) BTW This is not to demoralize people or to hurt people either. NOTE : (when I say "YOU", I meant the general Admins, not just Jade or anybody in particular.)
I understand most of these, your stand on this is issue is a tough one and it's great that you where able to make a stand on security and protection of the members of the wiki but I do have a few things to say about this case particularly my blog.
WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA?! Just before you comment negatively and judge me, my blog, or the members of the blog... I've said this before and I'll say it again... PLEASE HEAR US OUT (although, i still doubt you will. Where the FISH (it's euphemism for F*ck) in HEAR US OUT, can't you understand? o_O?)

1. I created the blog ( User blog:Themanonthestreet/THE MEN OF GLEE WIKI CALENDAR) with other glee wiki members. It wasn't just me. And NO, this is not to clean my hands off the blame but simply just to point out that this is not my intention alone. I created the blog and set it up with nominations as to who people might want to see in the calendar. If the people nominated doesn't want to be in it, the person can decline.
2. The second day after I posted the blog, it received lots of comments about it being "unsuited for the wiki", being "close to child pornography" (GOD!! SERIOUSLY?! Oh I'll expound on this later on), and that we need to rethink the intention of the blog because people might get offended... especially those that are nominated but doesn't want to do it.
3. That same day, I removed the nominations part and instead looked for volunteers. Which I really agreed on since I realized that people who may not want to be in the calendar might be nominated. I agree so much on that. I thought it might be humiliating to others so I apologized. I took guys who are willing to do it instead, since then, and yes I completed all 12. ^___^ (I guess you underestimated us... Me and the rest of the glee wiki...) I also took full responsibility on the blog and promised to make sure it passes as something safe for everyone.

I told them strictly not to be shirtless. The guys were fine with it. 3-4 photos. 1 photo for a shot from waist up as the main photo. 1 photo from the knees up, for the "floater" image near the calendar itself". 1 photo of them with something they do, or with something, someone they love, perhaps a pizza, a ball, their mom or whatever. I even consulted some of the Creative Team about incorporating user's bdays so it makes it, proudly ours, Glee Wiki's.
Naomi (KurtsieGirl) as a part of the creative team even consulted her mom on this. It's great to have an adult with us. Her mom thought that the idea is cool and cute.
5. I thought everything was ok and that I can continue with the project. Nobody bothers to leave a comment on the blog anymore so I thought I'm ok wtih all 12, and we can do the calendar. The day after that, an admin spoke to me and that made me so happy and excited (I was expecting a different conversation xD). The Admin told me that we need to do something about the blog and we cannot proceed with the concept of having pictures from the members. Instead, we should use photo's from the Men of Mckinley calendar from Glee and just add the users name underneath it (OMFG, you've got to be kidding!?). The administrators discussed the case already and that it must be enforced asap. I asked them why, the admin told me that it is for the "safety" of the users. I again tried to explain what we were trying to do, just so I can clear up the issue on topless teenagers. The admin told me that it has already been talked about and agreed on. I argued. I said that I need a reason why. I sorta felt that the blog has been judged eventhough the pictures arent out yet. The admin told me that it is for the safety of the glee wiki members. I felt as though we were running in circles... and well "SAFETY" is endgame so I submitted. I'm honestly upset but I know it's a tough issue with the admins too... I perfectly understand that but yes... It doesn't change the fact that it made me upset but not totally about the calendar being cancelled and all.. It's just sad... :(

THE SHIRTLESS PHOTOS
The idea started with simply just a calendar of pictures of people in the glee wiki... THAT WAS IT! AS SIMPLE AS THAT! If people were excited about it featuring photos of topless glee wiki guys, then that must be because of the linking of the calendar to the episode that just aired days before the blog was posted and yes I can't blame those people. Another reason why you might think it's a collection of shirtless guys, would be kidding Jack about remaking his shirtless photo (i even made a typo mistake on that, I said shitless xD), which we tell jack since we know he's shy and he doesn't want people to see that. That was a joke, and if ever you took that seriously then I'm sorry for that. I accept the mistake... but please read on...
If people accused it as child porn. OMG I'm sorry. how can you guys even think about that at once... wow. just wow... so anyways... CHILD PORNOGRAPHY. When this came up on the comment section I was the one offended. WOW?! SERIOUSLY?! WOW?! WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD I F*CKING (oops I should say fishing) DO THAT!! And besides, how can people say it's porn when the blog is just full of texts and stuff... There are no pictures on my blog?! except the headers I created to make it look better. So what's offensive on that blog? The thought of having pictures on it? So wait you have thought about shirtless pics right? woah... well... You might say that you are avoiding something wrong to happen, great but at least you should've asked me about what we want to do, how we'll do it, and how we will distribute it.
Well maybe, me and the guys wanted it shirtless. (Do we?!) You see, Kerwin mentioned about people talking about it being a collection of shirtless guys at first when he saw people talking about showing off their bodies and stuff so people must have thought that. For more on all your comments, it has always been about shirtless guys, shirtless guys, shirtless.. awww... People really don't get it... Oh wait... I'm sorry.... They didn't read "hear me out"... so I guessed they missed it when I said "ITS NOT GOING TO BE SHIRTLESS"
But well, that's even beyond the case now. So that "technicality card" shouldn't be working by now... I promised and told them it isn't gonna be shirtless so THAT should no longer an issue. Or at least I think it is. Wait, if it's still an issue, were they still thinking it's gonna be shirtless?? woah... that's interesting admins.... interesting...
"SAFETY" of the Glee Wiki
This I find really vague. Safety of the guys I'll be featuring? or the safety of the whole Glee Wiki? Safety from ME?! Is it still the issue on shirtless guys? Why get cryptic all of a sudden? Maybe... or maybe not. I wasn't able to get the answer for this. What I got though, and I do understand is about anons who go to the wiki and check stuff. My overthinking brought me to cyber bullying, leaked images, and what not. Uhm... Porn prolly yes, and Im not singling that out I agree. So are you saying personal pictures on our DPs aren't allowed because of that scare? Ok, well some of us are comfortable with putting our own pics as our dp... and it seems that we're ok to stay... This is because, IT IS OUR CHOICE. Whether or not there are consequences (and we know it, or at least I do... ) we put our pictures up because we want to. Personally, I put my own picture to make this simulated medium for conversation to be closer to reality and I'm comfortable showing my face. I trust everyone here, I consider everyone here my family. When I hear people about securing their identity and stuff, I respect them, I know they have reasons and It's not me to decide whether or not they should show their faces. Same goes to people who'd like to post pics of themselves or even celebrate it. Still not for other people to decide on that :) BTW, thinking about DPs makes me think of double standards here...
So let's sum it up. Shirtless or not. We cannot do it because it may not be "safe" for the wiki.
ADMINS TALK
So fine, the calendar has really made a lot of fuss in the wiki. I was really losing hope in creating it The thing that realy struck me most was when I heard this:
"this is something that we all talked about and agreed on."
not just that... also this :
"we have to enforce this right now."
Woah! WAIT?! talked about and agreed on.. so that's it?! No defense. Nothing about explaining the blog, the calendar, defending myself?! IT'S JUST THAT! Because... you already talked about it... Just judging upon how people talk about "showing bodies", the "calendar", and "not safe". As administrators, shouldn't there be more things to know than just what you thought or what you heard from others before judging something? Uhm how about seeing the end result first. You know, I can show it to you first before I publish it. ;) I also can just store it as a file and just send it to the team as a personal stuff and perhaps even a few interested people ;) instead of posting the pics on the blog page itself.
Sad as it is.... this is exactly how homophobes and racists judges. They assume stuff on things they don't know anything about yet or perhaps have not bothered to learn about at all and just closes the idea in their minds. Oh don't think about this being far-fetched... Homophobes hated because they think homosexuals are immoral. Same with racists, they hate other races because they think they are not equals or they think they're superior. They even make a lame excuse saying "we love them" just not what they're doing, or perhaps keep it to themselves... I find ignorance and double standards in the reaction and judgement made on this issue.... This is exactly it. For a fan following of a tv show that celebrates open mindedness and being different, shame on you.
I guess we lacked "administration" here. We need guidance. People who manage stuff. People who gets into the issue and not bystanders who judge based on what they think or hear from gossip. The administrators does a great job everyday and that I can't take away from them. I am upset about the judgement on this issue though. Instead of killing the idea, we should have worked on it, together. Nice try on telling us to just copy pics from glee, at least you had a suggestion. But seriously?! Is that the best the admins can suggest?! I kinda expected more from just that. I mean anyone can do that themselves, why else would I do something like that? But anyways that is besides the point.
My point is that before telling us to enforce it. We should have discussed about it. The discussion page or perhaps a more intimate discussion on the issue should have happened, not after you guys "talked about and agreed on something" and definitely not after telling me it's decided. Before you guys talk about and agree on it, we should have been heard. I've said this the third time now. HEAR US OUT! The discussion should have been there in the process of making the calendar and doesn't stop in just leaving a comment but in getting a resolution, a resolution where we all are on the same page. If not, at least an objective resolution, after looking into what we are doing. You assumed immediately and judged the blog when we haven't really even started yet....
To sum it all up. The stand on child porn is ok, I agree and I'm against it. The stand against people who have shirtless pics is ok, I submitted to that.. The stand against security of the members, that is so ok although I still do smell double standards... The sad part here is that I wasn't heard. I tried but I was told it's decided. So the issue here isn't child porn, nor cyber security. The issue is on how we are heard and how you decide for this wiki.
There are things you needed to change for the wiki (or maybe we need new admins???). Perhaps, a better process of decision making. I am so happy to find such great leadership in this wiki, and for more they are a group of really brilliant boys and girls... I expected a lot... I thought this means a better batch of leaders for the future of this world... A fresh minded people who discusses issue and resolves it.... I was wrong... This is just the same as the governments we all think is stupid.... maybe you're just like them...

I don't want to leave... The wiki feels like family... and the dream of people on the comments section visiting chat is a dream come true. But for this issue, I thought that I need to defend myself. And if I will, I'll be crossing a line and will eventually end up with people hating me so I better say goodbye instead. I've outgrown this place... and there are better things I must do....:3
